Synopsis[]

Usaida gets sick and is unable to work at the daycare, so he calls Saikawa to help babysit for the day.

Long Summary[]

It is the start of summer, and Ryuuichi is on the phone with Usaida in the daycare room. The other kids are very noisy, so Ryuu must cover his ears in order to hear Usaida. Usaida has caught a cold because he had slept naked in an air-conditioned room right after his shower. Shizuka appears and inquires about Usaida's condition while covering Taka's mouth because he is being loud. Ryuu decides to skip his lessons to take care of the children, but Usaida tells him that he has called for help in advance. Suddenly, Saikawa appears next to Ryuu, surprising him. Ryuu asks about his job as a secretary, and Saikawa informs him that the chairwoman has assigned him to take care of the children and that Ryuu should focus on his studies. He says that he may not be as capable of taking care of little children like Usaida or Ryuu, but he will try his best. Usaida says that he has contacted Yukari, Midori's mother, and the other moms in case of emergencies. Ryuu tells Kotaro to behave himself and Shizuka tells the same to Taka. Ryuu places Midori on Saikawa's back and tells the children to behave themselves. As he walks away, Ryuu thinks that it was rude of him to question Saikawa's abilities to take care of the children, as he has already looked after Kotaro before.

The children are a bit hesitant and stand away from Saikawa, Midori, and Kotaro. Saikawa notices this hesitation and thinks about what he can do with the children since he cannot make snacks nor play with cattails. Kotaro motivates him, and Saikawa agrees to follow him. Saikawa bows to the children and declares that he is in need of assistance. The children are proud to see that they are in charge. A passing Inui sees Saikawa bowing to the children and is confused. The children start to exclaim what they can teach Saikawa. They clamor all over him and Takuma even manages to climb onto his head and take his glasses off. Saikawa sees that the children are very hyper and cannot understand what any of them are saying. Just then, Midori makes an uncomfortable expression on her face.

Usaida's phone rings and he picks up the phone. The reception is bad so he cannot hear everything. Saikawa's messages break up, and all Usaida hears is that there is a seemingly dire emergency with Midori. Ten minutes ago, Midori had sprung a leak through her diaper, and the urine had gotten all over Saikawa's back. Kirin says that she will get the diapers, and Taka goes to get the rags and a bucket of water. They come running back but bump into each other. The water spills all over the diapers, soaking them. Saikawa does not panic and decides to call Usaida and ask where the spare diapers are. However, Midori knocks his phone into the water, which renders it useless. Kirin starts to cry and calls Taka an idiot. Taka cries, saying that Kirin is the one at fault. Takuma and Kazuma start crying because of the distress and Midori cries because her diaper still has not been changed. Saikawa says that he has messed up and prepares a cloth to make a makeshift diaper for Midori.

Ryuu and his classmates are running an outdoor marathon when he bumps into someone. The man falls and Ryuu helps him back up. He then realizes that the man is Usaida, who has run out because he heard Midori had an emergency. Ryuu and Hayato bring Usaida over to the daycare center, where they see that Midori is just fine and is wearing Saikawa's makeshift diaper. The children are neatly folding up the rags and cleaning up the space. Saikawa explains the entire situation and Usaida, exhausted, asks to lie down. The children happily tell him that they are alright without him and that they are behaving. Usaida turns red, and Hayato calls him out for crying. Usaida says that he will be going back when Saikawa tells him that Midori was distressed without him around. Midori then pulls on Usaida's pant leg and says his name.

Yukari is a bit upset that Midori's first word was Usaida's name and not "mama" or "papa." Thus, Usaida earns the ire of Midori's mother.
